By incorporating apple cider vinegar into my day to day routine, I felt more 'cleansed' and noticed I had clearer skin.

Today I'm going to talk about some of the benefits of apple cider vinegar as well as my own personal advice about when to take it and the dosage.

Let's get started!

How Apple Cider Vinegar is made

Apple cider vinegar is made by crushing and fermenting apples in wooden barrels. The fermentation process leads to the production of acetic acid, which gives apple cider its bitter taste.

Apple Cider Vinegar Benefit 2: Improves Overall Wellbeing

Apple cider vinegar contains powerful minerals and vitamins that help promote the growth of good bacteria while boosting the immune system. You can include apple cider in your salads or sip it several times a day to enjoy its many health benefits to your health.

Apple Cider Vinegar Benefit 3: Improves Heart health

Several studies have confirmed that the minerals in apple cider vinegar help lower blood pressure, which helps prevent cardiovascular disorders.

It is believed that apple cider helps fight heart disease due to its anti-oxidant properties. In addition, apple cider helps lowers cholesterol, which is known to contribute to heart diseases and problems.

A 2014 article published in the Journal of Food Science showed that apple cider vinegar helped boost heart health through its chlorogenic acid that prevents oxidation of cholesterol LDL that can block arteries.

Apple Cider Vinegar Benefit 4: Can Reduce Acne & Skin Conditions

The detoxifying compounds in apple cider vinegar makes it a great remedy for pimples, warts and other skin ailments. The minerals in apple cider help cleanse acne-causing bacteria in the body.

Dabbing apple cider vinegar on the skin after washing will help restore the skin’s PH while killing bacteria on your skin. While used regularly apple cider vinegar will help fade aging marks, warts and pimples.

Another study carried out on insulin resistant patients who took a mixture of apple cider vinegar with water before consuming a high carb diet had reduced blood sugar levels after the experiment. The acid in apple cider vinegar may be the key to control glucose levels in the blood.

Apple Cider Vinegar Benefit 6: Detoxification

Apple cider vinegar contains minerals and enzymes that can help remove toxins from the body. The enzymes help take cleanse the colon and other areas ridden with microbial properties, as it travels throughout the body.

In addition, it is believed the compounds in apple cider encourage good bacteria to thrive and the minerals help improve the immune system.

Apple Cider Vinegar Benefit 7: May Prevent Various Health Issues

Several studies have confirmed that apple cider vinegar helps encourage the growth of good bacteria while getting rid of bacteria that can cause disease. One small study found that the acid in apple cider can help break mucus to prevent colds.

Besides its detoxifying effect, apple cider vinegar contains minerals and vitamins that help improve the body’s immune system and balance from inside out.

How to Take Apple Cider Vinegar & Dosage

Apple cider vinegar makes a flavourful addition to salad dressings, homemade pickles and marinades.

But I find it best and most effective when taking on its own.

My own personal recommendation is as follows:

  • 1 tablespoon upon waking
  • 1 tablespoon before lunch
  • 1 tablespoon before a cheat meal

As it is a vinegar, it may burn your throat if you are not used to the acidity. For this reason, some people find it easier to take with a glass of water.

Apple Cider Vinegar Summary

Apple cider vinegar offers many benefits, whether you are seeking weight loss, detoxification or just to feel better and healthier. The vinegar can easily be added into your everyday routine by adding it to salads and dressings, but can also be taken raw and before main meals.
